Establishment Date and Law:

In the meeting of the Council of Higher Education dated 04.12.1987, the establishment of an "Environmental Problems Application and Research Center" within the body of the Rectorate of Trakya University was approved in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of the Law No. The Central Regulation was published in the Official Gazette dated 11.06.1996 and numbered 22663 and this regulation was repealed and updated with the new regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 14 January 2019 and numbered 30655. The new regulation was prepared based on the sub-clause (2) of the first paragraph of the 7th article of the Higher Education Law dated 4/11/1981 and numbered 2547 and the 14th article and entered into force on 14/01/2019.

Establishment Purpose and Fields of Activity:

To support activities that will contribute to the preservation of the biological richness and ecological structure of the region, to carry out interdisciplinary research and awareness-raising studies on environmental problems and solutions affecting the university and the region, and to share these with the relevant authorities and the public, to organize activities that will raise awareness about sustainable healthy environment Collaborating with other relevant organizations on environmental issues is included in the activity definitions of the center.
